Sustainability

Diversification has been a focus for us at Hurunui-Farms. Its key aim is to invest in profitable rural businesses that create opportunities and enable the local community and economy to flourish. At Hurunui Farms  you’ll find our Hurunui Omegga Egg business which is flourishing, our farming stock of beef and sheep plus many crops that feed all of those animals. We employ 4 staff and 2 children!

We believe in investing in nature and doing everything we can to reduce our impact on the climate and the natural world.  We are always looking at ways to improve our environmental performance and reduce our carbon footprint .

We have taken our attitude towards the environment into the packaging, sourcing cardoard boxes that can be recycled or used to light the fire! We source everything we can from Canterbury as it benefits other small businesses just like us. 

Hurunui-Farms Foundation

The foundation which will be set up in 2023 is a way to give back and share the abundance with nature. 

We have big dreams and are on track to creating a tree shelter belt with Hurunui Natives on our farm, and we also want to grow a flower strip in each paddock to attract bees and support our local Honey producer.
